The File Menu contains all of the basic and maintenance functions of 1st Submit.
From here you can start a New Project, Save an existing Project, Add URLs to submit, go to the Domain Manager, or Exit the program.
A Project is the workspace that contains all of the URLs that you have added for submission and all of the other data that you have added to 1st Submit. You can have multiple Project files and start New Projects at any time.
New Project
Clicking the New Project option will start a fresh new workspace. All of the fields are reset and ready for new information. Be sure to use the Save Project option before hitting New Project to ensure that you do not lose any changes.
Open Project
By clicking File, then selecting Open, you are telling 1st Submit to open an existing Project file. A File Open dialog box will appear and wait for you to locate and load an existing Project file.
Save Project
Selecting File, then clicking Save will instruct the 1st Submit program to save your Project file.
Save as
Selecting File, then clicking Save as.. will instruct the 1st Submit program to open a dialog box to let you select a directory to save your Project file. This is similar to the Save function except that Save As allows you to select a different Project file name.
Add URLs
A URL, short for universal resource locator, includes the protocol (ex. HTTP), the domain name (or IP address), and additional path information (folder/file).
The Add URLs screen allows you to enter all of the website addresses that you will be submitting and/or evaluating while using 1st Submit.
You can optionally extract URLs from another website address. Start by entering an address in the text box next to the "Extract URLs From Web Address" button at the bottom of the screen. Notice that the "http://www." has already been started for you. After entering the address that you want to extract, click the "Extract URLs From Web Address" button.
After you have entered or Extracted your URLs, you may be prompted to add them to your list of URLs in 1st Submit. Clicking "Yes" will add the website address, clicking "No" will not.
